htc hero as a modem ?

hello to all i was wondering if i can use my sprint htc hero as a modem?

Either use Pdanet (search on market)

Or, go on settings/wireless settings

and at the bottom there should be an option to 'share mobile connection via USB'

You need HTC sync for it to work
or it works out the box with linux

I suggest you use anetshare (in market)
it turns it into a wireless AP (access point) it requires root access but works very well and seems to be faster than the wireless tether which comes on custom ROMS,

fastest speeds are achieved through (as michael said) the wired tether

hey guys i got the Pdanet to work thank you for all ur help. however i would to try the suggestion stick0 recommend but i am having problems to root the sprint htc hero
